New 4-Valent Dengue Vaccine

In 2024, it is expected that dengue fever will have an outbreak that is three times higher than the average of the past five years. Receiving the new 4-valent dengue vaccine (2 doses) will help prevent infection, and if infected, symptoms will be less severe.

Vaccine Efficacy

• Prevents dengue fever by up to 80.2%
• Reduces hospitalization rates by 90.4%

Vaccine Administration Recommendations:

• Can be administered to children aged 4 and older.
• 2 doses are required, given 3 months apart.
• Can be given to individuals who have and have not previously contracted dengue fever without the need for blood testing.
• No underlying conditions that impair the immune system.
